Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we hear most, answered plainly. Don’t see yours? Call us — a real person on our direct line will be happy to help.

Appointments & Reservations

How do I make an appointment?

All visits are made by reservation over our direct telephone line. Call during office hours and we will find a time that fits your schedule. If you reach us after hours, use the callback form on the Contact page and we will call you the next business day.

Why don’t you offer online booking?

Because a two-minute conversation books you better. Different needs require different amounts of time, and talking with us first means your visit is scheduled correctly — with the time it truly needs reserved just for you.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens — just call us as soon as you know, ideally 24 hours ahead, and we will happily find you a new time.

Emergencies

I have a dental emergency. What should I do?

Call our direct line first — we reserve time for urgent care and will guide your first steps over the phone. For a knocked-out adult tooth, keep it moist in cold milk and reach us within the hour. If swelling affects breathing or swallowing, go to the emergency room first.

Do you treat emergencies for new patients?

Yes. If you are in pain, you do not need a history with us — call, describe what happened, and we will do our best to see you promptly.

My tooth stopped hurting. Do I still need to come in?

Please do. Pain that disappears often means the nerve is quieting down, not that the problem is gone — and untreated infection can return worse. A quick exam now can save the tooth later.

First Visits

What should I bring to my first appointment?

A photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications, and any recent dental x-rays if you have them. Arrive about ten minutes early for a short health history.

When should my child first see the dentist?

By their first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early visits are short and gentle — mostly about building comfort. Dr. Simeon’s years of pediatric practice make first visits happy ones.

Do you see patients who speak Tagalog?

Opo! Dr. Simeon is fluent in Tagalog and English. Feel free to speak whichever language is most comfortable — care instructions and explanations can be given in either.

Insurance & Payment

Which insurance plans do you accept?

We accept dental PPO insurance plans. Because plan networks change, the surest step is to call our office with your member information — we will verify your benefits before your visit so there are no surprises.

What if I don’t have dental insurance?

You are still very welcome. Call us and we will explain fees for the visit you need up front, before anything is done, so you can decide with full information.

Will you tell me the cost before treatment?

Always. Every treatment plan is explained in plain language with costs and insurance coverage discussed before we begin. No surprise bills — that is a promise.

Pain & Anxiety

I’m nervous about the dentist. Can you help?

Yes — and you are far from alone. Tell us when you book. We schedule extra time, explain each step before it happens, agree on a stop signal, and never rush you. Many of our most loyal patients arrived as anxious ones.

Do cleanings or fillings hurt?

Cleanings should not hurt; you may feel light scraping and pressure. For fillings and crowns we numb the area thoroughly first — a topical gel goes on before any injection, so even that part is gentle. Sensitivity afterward is mild and short-lived.

What does “gentle dentistry” actually mean here?

It means comfort is planned, not hoped for: slower pacing, careful numbing, constant communication, and a doctor who checks in with you throughout. It is the standard for every patient at every visit.
